Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA)

RYLA is a Rotary Club initiative designed for 18 to 25 years olds.  In the April or July school holidays RYLA-a week  long live-in seminar, is held in Adelaide, usually somewhere in the beautiful Adelaide Hills.  The week is  action packed, full of inspirational guest speakers who talk about self esteem, values, personality, power
of the mind, team building, situational leadership, goal setting, time management, public speaking,
communication, debating and more.  Leadership skills are acquired throughout the week by way of
games and activities, instructed by the 5 mentors (who are all previous awardees).  You will meet many
new people and make life long friends. All food and accommodation is provided, and some travel
expenses will be reimbursed.  Belinda Foureur and Abby King of Port Lincoln attended the 2006 RYLA
and found it to be a fantastic and worthwhile experience. Abby returned in 2007 and 2008 to help run RYPEN, a similar program designed for 14-17 year olds, run over a weekend.
