Liz Penfold joined
several hundred people on the steps of parliament house this week at a
“Walk in my shoes” rally organised by the Dignity for the Disabled lobby
group.
Protest organiser David Holst spoke to the large crowd urging the
government to recognise the funding shortfall in the disability sector.
Protesters were urged to bring along an old pair of shoes to lay on the
steps of parliament house symbolising the difficulties families and carers
of the disabled have on a daily basis.
Shadow Minister for Disability Isabel Redmond also addressed the crowd.

hundreds of pairs of shoes for the Walk in my Shoes campaign organised by

hundreds of others for the “Walk in my Shoes” campaign lobbying for
additional funding for the Disabled.
