Brennan’s Jetty
5 July 2004

Liz Penfold Member for Flinders has asked the City of Port Lincoln to look at a long term solution to the issues of Brennan’s Jetty, the spur and the main city’s wharf for the benefit of recreational fishers, tourists and the community.

In response to a letter sent from the CEO of Port Lincoln City Council to all Members of Parliament, Mrs Penfold has responded with suggestions that it may be possible to trade off Brennan’s Jetty to Flinders Ports and use a section of the old ‘spur’ jetty for recreational use.

In a bold plan Mrs. Penfold suggests that the community could have an asset that would provide safe recreational and tourist access close to, but not part of the wharf.

Mrs. Penfold has asked Council to consider facilitating Eyre Regional Development Board to put a proposal together that would take into account funding options, support and approvals from Council, State Government departments, Flinders Ports, private investors and the community.
